Four years ago, I asked Elmira for the chance to serve. I promised to work on our downtown, environmental accountability, inclusion and responsible local government. My first term has been practical. I've asked what a proposal costs, who pays, whether it fits Elmira and what evidence supports it. I helped carry Elmira's Arthur Street case to the Region, chaired the Elmira BIA, chaired TRAC through a critical transition, pushed for infrastructure-accountability measures, and spoke up when local proposals needed another look. I also voted for difficult budgets, and some of the work I promised, especially the full downtown vision, the bypass and aquifer remediation, is not finished. My record isn't that I did everything. It is that I showed up, learned the files, showed my work, and kept Elmira's interests at the table.
