Make local government easier to navigate and more responsive. Improve communication between the municipality and residents with timely updates and clearer information. Support a strong downtown, local businesses, needed services, parks, recreation and public spaces that make Elmira a place where families want to stay and people feel welcome.
With affordability pressures increasing, we need experienced scrutiny and stronger accountability for spending, capital projects and water bills. Every dollar collected should be justified and clearly tied to value for residents. Challenge unnecessary costs, demand transparency in major decisions and maintain infrastructure before small problems become expensive failures.
Maintain Elmira’s roads, sidewalks and core infrastructure in a way that fits the community’s size and character. Finish major projects already underway and improve missing connections where they are genuinely needed. Keep pushing for a credible long-term Elmira bypass strategy that addresses truck traffic, safety, growth pressures and quality of life in the town core.
Protect Elmira’s tree canopy, mature trees, parks, trails and greenspace as the community grows. Invest in the care of the natural assets we already have, not simply their replacement. Keep pressure on aquifer remediation through clear evidence, timelines, public accountability and meaningful community input.
